Assemble and Hand Out Care Packages to the Homeless – June 22

Posted on June 19, 2014

Last month we collected items for the homeless. Now we’ll be assembling them into care packages to give out. First we’ll meet at 10:45am at the rec room at the Villa Bay View apartments at 2568 Albatross in Banker’s Hill to put together the packages and then we’ll head over to First Presbyterian Church at 320 Date Street where there will be a line of 50-60 homeless people waiting for a meal.

If you’d like to bring 2-3 care packages already assembled (see below for a list), that would be very helpful because we’re worried we might not have enough for all 50-60 people. However, if you don’t have time to put together any care packages beforehand, no problem! Just come ready to roll up your selves.

When you arrive at the Villa Bay View Apartments, come to the gate on the left side of the building. If you come late or are having trouble finding us, please call (don’t text) Tanya at 619-786-2862. Thanks everyone and see you there!

ITEMS STILL NEEDED TO ADD TO THE CARE PACKAGES:
* Soft non-perishable food (like Nutrigrain Bars, apple sauce, canned beans/soups (with a pop top lid)
* New socks
* Deodorant
